A SERIES OF VIDEOS IN WHICH DANCE TEACHERS PRESENT A SELECTION OF THEIR FAVORITE DANCES, ACCOMPANIED IN THE RECORDING STUDIO BY MUSICIANS AND SINGERS.

Rhythm & Drumming for Folk Dancers Monthly on Saturdays

RHYTHM & DRUMMING FOR FOLK DANCERS

If you joined us for Polly’s first drum/rhythm class, you’ll be delighted to know that the Southwest International Folk Dance Institute has decided to continue these exciting lessons as a monthly series. If you missed out the first time, be sure to join us now! Polly Tapia Ferber makes hearing, counting, and playing various dance rhythms accessible and enjoyable. Use any hand drum available: A doumbek, a djembe, a coffee can…your feet know the drill; now your hands and brain can get in on the fun!

  • Džambo Aguševi Orchestra is the hottest Balkan brass band in the world. Please check out their new album, “Brasses for the Masses”.

  • Zlatne Uste Balkan Brass Band is the founding band of Golden Festival in Brooklyn, NY, and this will be their second appearance at the Balkan Chestnut Festival.

Pourparler is going virtual through Zoom this year with “Taste of Pourparler” on November 6th-8th. Please spread the word.
