From California’s Peninsula Folk Dance Team is an awesome idea:
As almost all classes and parties have been cancelled, we’re going to host a VIRTUAL FOLK DANCE PARTY!  We’ll send out instructions on how to connect and you can dance with your friends!

When – Saturday, March 28, 3pm to 6pm, Pacific Time

Where – Wherever you are; no need to get together to dance, we’ll dance in our own homes, apartments, vans, yurts, cabins,….

What’s that again? – We’ll be setting up a video and audio bridge for everybody to web or call into. A few of us will be playing music so we can all dance without being together.

What else? – With luck, you’ll be able to show yourself with your webcam and we’ll see and hear each other! Hey, wear a costume!

Over the next week and a half, the Peninsula Folk Dance Team will be testing options for this; we’ll make sure we have multiple MCs in place in case of internet failure, have at least several hundred logins, and play your requests!

Email your dance requests to the Virtual Folk Dance team. We’re also working on a way for you to request during the event.

More to come, we’re going to figure this out. Another posting will be made with how you will connect via web and/or phone.

Looking forward to dancing with all of you. Flyer here.

Adony and Becky, on behalf of the entire Peninsula Folk Dance Team!
